Friedrich Ebert was the first democratic president of Germany. As a politician of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) he became head of state of the Weimar Republic in 1919. He died in office in 1925.
The heart of the Friedrich-Ebert-Haus is a small, 45 square meter three-room apartment where Friedrich Ebert was born on 4 February 1871. The additional exhibition „From Worker’s Leader to President — Friedrich Ebert (1871-1925)“ presents the life and times of Friedrich Ebert.
